Last year, I photographed the Magical Living Fence on Capistrano Avenue in Berkeley. At that time, the homeowner invited me to come back after February 14, because every year on Valentine’s Day he buys flowers for his wife — living flowers, that he plants in a special garden spot reserved for this display, just for her. I did drop by this week, and it was just as he said it would be — a charming mini flower garden, made all the more romantic by the drifts of pink blossoms floating down from the plum trees. Now I ask you, what woman would not be in love forever with a man who does this?
