This historic home was built in Berkeley’s early days, when most homes still lacked electric lights, the University was in its infancy, and the steam train still ran down Shattuck Avenue. The home exhibits many iconic Victorian-era features such as turned spindle posts (from Berkeley’s early wood mills), transom windows, and decorative gable shingles.
